I remember when my dad taught me how to ride a bik

I remember when my dad taught me how to ride a bike without training wheels. The thought of zooming around on two wheels was scary and exhilarating!

I sat feeling unsure and wobbly as he held onto the back of my banana seat bike. As I began to peddle he held on encouraging me to peddle hard. Then he let go.

There were a lot of scraps and bruises as I focused on learning to ride on two wheels. But, the more I determined to keep my eyes on the horizon the better I got.

Running a business is a lot like learning to ride a bike without training wheels. It is scary and exhilarating all at one. There are usually some scrapes and bruises as you navigate the road. But if you keep your eyes on the goal you will get better.

Consistency has been a discipline I have worked on

Consistency has been a discipline I have worked on for years. There are so many ideas and inspirations of mine that have died by the wayside due to a lack on consistency.

The beginning of any venture is filled with excitement and anticipation, but these feelings can quickly suffocate in the daily grind.

Here are a few ideas to help you develop consistency

✏️ Acknowledgement and get rid of your barriers

✏️ Develop habits to reach your goals

✏️ start small and increase as you move forward

✏️ Give yourself grace

Developing consistency is like any other discipline; it takes time. You’re going to fumble and make mistakes, that is a part of the process. Get back up and begin again. You’ll thank yourself later 😀

There is a lot of buzz in the social world about how to start your business. It can be intimidating to even move forward.

When I started JTD I didn’t have a North Star I was shooting for or a grand plan on how to get somewhere.

I took a chance on an idea that had been in my heart for a long time, and I started.

With that first step, I committed everyday yo learning more, going further, and being the best I could be that day.

As I have walked this out each day, those other things began to fall into place.

So, if you have an idea in your heart maybe just start and commit to the process. It’s amazing where it can take you.

These songs were all released as b-sides. They were not expected to become hits, yet they out performed their A-side release.

As entrepreneurs or business owners we can be plagued by doubts. It is easy to doubt when you know that 45% of businesses fail in the first five years.

But what if your business is that b-side? Just by starting a business you have beaten the odds!

In a 2021 Harris Poll, 92% of the people surveyed who seriously considered starting a business, didn’t follow through. That is staggering.

So, if you’re feeling the doubt today remember you are in the top 6% and even if this idea fails, the courage you showed to begin might have an impact on someone else.
