So glad you joined me for the Brand Boost of the week. I am all about saving time and money in my business. One of the ways that I can save both and attract customers is with clear, simple, and consistent messaging. So today, we are going to define our brand message to promote a healthy growing business.
Messaging for our small business helps build brand awareness, trust, and credibility. But, how can we make our message magnetic?

Create for Clarity
Creating a magnetic message begins with understanding who we are talking to. Think about it. When we interact with people in every day situations, we speak to each person or group differently. While our overall tone and personality stays the same, we adapt our communication to be better understood.
So, a clear brand message is directed to the right audience. It is a concise message that speaks to a particular audiences’ problem, and gives them a clear solution.
Brand Boost Challenge
Let’s get some clarity. Instead of trying to talk to everyone, define a specific customer you want to reach. This doesn’t have to be an overly complicated customer avatar. Just a simple audience profile will be helpful.
Strategize with Simplicity
I love the show, Traitors! I have watched almost every country’s version of the show. One thing I see over and over again, is that the person who can’t seem to bring value to the round table with clear ideas of who the traitors are is banished pretty quickly.
Our brands suffer the same plight if we appear wishy washy in our messaging. When we aren’t clear on the value we offer within a few seconds, people are going to banish our brands and scroll on.
To verbalize our value we have to go beyond what we sell or offer and communicate our “why” with clarity and simplicity. It begins with thinking through our audiences’ needs, and pinpointing how our brand meets those needs in very specific ways. We lean into what friends, family, and past customers have said about our product or services. We don’t want to communicate a message that is not true or make a promise we can’t deliver on, so keep it authentic, but specific.

Brand Boost Challenge
To verbalize your brand value ask yourself
“What do my customers need or want, and how do I provide that?”
“What do I want to be known for?”
“What is the way I deliver value to my customers?”
“What makes me different from my competitors?”
Communicate with Consistency
Elizabeth Arden is attributed with saying, “instead of saying 100 things, say one thing 100 times.” Communicating a simple message consistently, is more effective than flooding our customers with a hundred reasons of why our brand is so great.
Consistency thrives on simplicity. By combining what we have learned about our specific audience and determined about our unique value, we can craft one clear, simple message that will act as a magnet.
By communicating the same value, promise, and purpose to the same people we create a consistent brand voice across all of our customer touch points. With every communication we are building a strong recognizable brand that customers can trust.

Brand Boost Challenge
Take some time to look over the competitive landscape in your industry. What messages are already out there? Knowing this will help you capitalize on your unique value.
Using that information along with your answers to the previous questions, craft your message into a one to two sentence. Try it out on friends, family or associates. They should be able to easily identify what you do and the impact you make.
With simple, clear messaging your offers will be magnetic! Download the Magnetic Messaging Workbook created to walk you through each step of the messaging process with ease. Then, head over to my Instagram, and share your message with me. I would love to hear it.
